Why Unsheathed

I like cutting through things. Well, ideologically. And physically, but that’s usually chicken. The name of this blog really comes from the frustration a younger me felt when looking for media reviews from a Christian perspective. Seldom few people were balanced in their critiques, most nitpicked for flaws, and almost none of them helped to dispel the idea that people of faith are nothing more than blind, unintellectual zealots who hate anything that isn’t directly quoting the Bible. Thus, I wanted to cut past the ignorance, the hyperbole, the lack of nuance, and get to the heart of all sorts of media. Whether that’s anime or music, books or hobbies, I want this blog to be a place where people of all walks of life can get together, dig deep, and come away with some good conclusions. I don’t expect us all to agree, heck I disagree with stuff I wrote 5 years ago, but I do hope we can all have some fruitful conversations here. Here’s to good vibes and good times.
